St Teresa's Catholic Primary School

Boreatton Park PGL 2026

Friday 27th February.

The group of nine children left St. Teresa's School at 9.15 a.m. and were taken to the St. Edmund's site of St. Edmund's and St. Patrick's Catholic School, Thank you to Mrs. Connell and Mrs. Allport for helping with transport.

We packed our luggage onto the coach and along with children and staff from St. Patrick and St. Edmund's Catholic School, St. Francis' Catholic School and St. Clare's Catholic School, set of for PGL Boreatton Park, Staffordshire. at 9.50 a.m.

We arrived at PGL Boreatton Park at 11.15 a.m. We went straight to our cabins. The five boys are in Goldfinch 7 and the four girls are in Hawk 2. Then we had lunch.

Mrs Rivett, the headteacher of St. Clare's Catholic Primary School, had organised the visit for the Caritas Christi In Urbe schools and had also organised purple hoodies for all those taking part in this visit. These were presented after lunch.

Milly, our leader, gave us a tour of the site. We then had some team building activities. After a short break, we had some fun games. It was evident that all forty-two children from the four schools were starting to get to know each other,

Our children are in Groups 1 and 2 for activities and this afternoon both groups were on the High Ropes Course. This was not for the faint hearted - as the photographs bear out.

The two groups then went for dinner at 5.45 p.m. After dinner, there was some time for the children in their rooms to unpack and get ready for the evening activity.

Millie, our leader, took all four groups with the accompanying staff from the four schools up to the main house and the children took part in challenges to earn items for the Balloon Burst Challenge. The items gained were used to protect a balloon which had water in it. The wrapped balloons were then dropped to the floor to see if they would burst or not. All four groups were successful. One member of each team was then allowed to throw the partially filled water balloon. These balloons either did not burst when they hit Mille or missed her completely, so she remained dry.

The evening activity ended just after 8.30 p.m. The children returned to their cabins and got ready for bed. By 9.15 p.m. the children were settling down and lights out was at 9.30 p.m.

Saturday 28th February

The children were up, in some cases extremely early, and to breakfast art 7.50 a.m. After breakfast the four groups had two activities in the morning and two activities in the afternoon. By the time of our evening meal, each group had had the opportunity to ride the Giant Swing, played Aeroball, been given the opportunity to try abseiling and had a go at 'Survivor'.

after our evening meal, we were all together in for a camp fire, toasted marshmallows, communal singing and a talent show.

After a long and busy day, the children settled down from 9.30 p.m.

Sunday 1st March

At breakfast, we all sang Happy Birthday to Logan on his special day. After breakfast, the bags were packed and the rooms emptied and all our belongings were taken to a storage space. The two groups with our children in were Problem Solving and tqking on the Trapeze in the morning.

We then went to lunch and to the shop. after all our money was spent both groups finished their week with Archery.

We then loaded up our baggage, said our goodbyes and left PGL Boreatton Park at 4.20 p.m. We returned to the St. Edmund's site of St. Patrick and St. Edmund's School at 5.40 p.m.

A special thank you to Mrs Rivett, headteacher of St. Clare's for organising this visit on behalf of the four schools.

Mr. Corkery, I just wanted to take a moment to say how pleased and grateful I am for the way you encourage Aaliyah to take part in activities that challenge her fears. It means a lot to see her being supported in stepping outside her comfort zone and building her confidence, something I never thought could have happened. Thank you for taking the time to motivate and guide her in this way.
